Mit einem traditionellen Ribbon-Cutting, Lebkuchenherzen un einer Torte für alle Passagiere wurde nun der Erstflug der Condor von München nach Costa Rica am Abflugate gefeiert.
In relation with the recent announcement by some State Parties of their decision to withdraw from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panamá, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, State Parties to the Rome Statute from Latin America and the Caribbean, express their deep regret over these decisions.
While recognizing it is the sovereign right of States to withdraw from international treaties, we are concerned of how these decisions can negatively impact victims¨ access to justice and reparations.
We wish to affirm our faith in the value of the universality of the Rome Statute towards which all of us are fully committed. In this regard, our countries want to express our commitment to continue strengthening the landmark steps that the international community has been taking towards the common goal of combating impunity and delivering global criminal justice for the victims of the most serious crimes of international concern.
Therefore, we encourage all stakeholders to engage in a constructive dialogue to address any concerns that may arise, while fully respecting the integrity of the Rome Statute and the independence of the Court.
While the International Criminal Court may be facing new challenges, we are sure that they are not insurmountable , and that with the support and commitment of State Parties to the Rome Statute and other UN Member States we will continue advancing towards a world where accountability rules are fully supported.
In this regard, we recall the paramount contribution of the International Criminal Court to the fight against impunity and reiterate our support to all the efforts made by the Court in this regard. We also wish to recall that the Court is an independent judicial institution, bound by the Rome Statute and carrying out its mandate in an impartial manner.
We are convinced of the need to preserve the integrity of the Rome Statute, and the independence of the Court, in order for the ICC to be able to continue fulfilling its mandate to bring justice against impunity and reparations to the victims of mass atrocities.
In particular n the current context , and taking into account the pressing global circumstances our group would also like to recall the principle of complementarity, which affirms that States have the primary responsibility to exercise jurisdiction and to ensure an effective prevention and prosecution of crimes under the Rome Statute Considering the imperative to ensure that all States cooperate with the International Criminal Court according to their international obligations, we call upon States to continue to do so and to strengthen all possible efforts in this regard.
Inspired by the indissoluble commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the Rome Statute, we reaffirm our support to the shared goal of lasting peace and justice.

Deutschlands beliebtester Ferienflieger startete gestern Abend das erste Mal von München nach Costa Rica. Am 7.November hob die Boeing 767-300ER um 21:45 Uhr mit der Flugnummer DE2188 in die Hauptstadt von Costa Rica ab. Im Winter 2016/2017 können Condor Fluggäste ab jetzt immer montags von München in den Zentralamerikanischen Staat reisen.
„Wir erweitern das Langstreckennetz von Condor am Münchner Flughafen stetig und freuen uns deshalb sehr, dass wir nun die Möglichkeit haben unsere Fluggäste auch vom Süden Deutschlands nach San José zu fliegen“, so Christian Schmitt, Director Aircraft & Ground Operations der Thomas Cook Group Airlines. „Mit dieser Destination führen wir eine Tradition fort, denn bereits seit mehr als 25 Jahren fliegt Condor San José ab Frankfurt an.“
„Wir sind sehr froh, dass wir mit Condor einen starken Partner haben und das Angebot an unserem Flughafen ausbauen können“, so Andreas von Puttkamer, Senior Vice President Business Division Aviation, Flughafen München. „Neben San José werden auch die Flughäfen von Tobago und Bridgetown in den Winterflugplan 2016/2017 aufgenommen und im Sommer 2017 folgen die beiden US-Ziele Las Vegas und Seattle. Damit können wir den Reisenden an unserem Flughafen ein tolles Portfolio bieten.“

Casi el 100% del suministro de la energía proveniente de fuentes renovables. El propio ejército hace largo tiempo abolido. La democracia más antigua en América Central: Si la comunidad internacional fuera una escuela, seguramente tendría en Costa Rica su estudiante modelo. Con la calidez correspondiente, el Ministro Federal de Relaciones Exteriores, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, se ha reunido hoy con su homólogo costarricense, Manuel González, en Berlín.
"¡Pura Vida!" – (pures Leben). Este es, literalmente, el lema del país centroamericano. Significa, también, "hola", "todo bien" o "qué tal" y sirve como una fórmula universal para saludar. Y puesto que la vida es tan importante para la gente de este país, es que la protegen desde sus cimientos: Casi el 30% de la superficie de Costa Rica está protegida bajo la figura de reservas naturales. En la actualidad Costa Rica obtiene ya mismo el 97% de su energía de fuentes renovables, lo que la convierte en uno de los líderes mundiales en dicho ámbito. Con todo, el presidente Solís quiere ir más lejos y se ha planteado la meta de que para 2021, Costa Rica sea el primer país en presentar un balance de emisiones de CO2 totalmente equilibrado.
Más allá de las cuestiones energéticas, la protección del medio ambiente es una prioridad en el país de los "ticos”, como los costarricenses se llaman a sí mismos. Pues el país es una de las 20 naciones más ricas en biodiversidad –¡y ello con una superficie del tamaño de Baja Sajonia! Como es de esperarse, el ecoturismo se ha convertido en una industria importante. Muchos alemanes enfrentan el largo viaje para ver a los monos aulladores o a la famosa rana de ojos rojos, en su ámbito natural.
Aparte de cuestiones medioambientales, en la agenda de ambos ministros de Exteriores se trataron también temas de política regional, como el proceso de paz en Colombia y la situación en Haití. En lo que se refiere a las relaciones económicas entre Alemania y Costa Rica, Steinmeier y González hab podido confirmar un progreso importante: En la actualidad de están llevando a cabo negocianiones en torno a la adhesión de Costa Rica a la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarollo Económico (OCDE). En 2017 entrará en vigor el tratado sobre la doble imposición (tributaria) entre Alemania y Costa Rica. Y cada vez son más las empresas alemanas que se siente atraídas por las condiciones de estabilidad, sobre todo en la capital, San Jo´se, donde se asietan cada vez más firmas de alta tecnología.
Manuel González retomará su largo viaje a casa después de mantener conversaciones con el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, así como con la Ministra Federal de Educación, la Dra. Wanka y con la Ministra de Medio Ambiente, Barbara Hendricks. Aquí en Berlín, es un huésped bienvenido.
Am Montag, 17. Oktober, besuchte Botschafter Giancarlo Luconi Coen mit einer Delegation die Universität Osnabrück. Die Lehrerbildung und die Einführung einer dualen beruflichen Bildung in Costa Rica standen im Mittelpunkt der Gespräche. Begrüßt wurden die Gäste im Osnabrücker Schloss von Universitätspräsident Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lücke. Am Nachmittag folgte ein Empfang im Friedenssaal des Osnabrücker Rathauses.
Der neue Botschafter Costa Ricas, Giancarlo Luconi Coen, besuchte mit hochrangigen Vertretern des costa-ricanischen Bildungsministeriums, der Universidad Técnica Nacional, Unternehmern und Gewerkschaftlern die Universität Osnabrück.
Das 2014 gegründete Costa Rica-Zentrum dient dem Wissenschaftsaustausch zwischen Deutschland und Costa Rica. Aktuell geht es um ein Kooperationsprojekt im Bereich berufliche Bildung zwischen der Partneruniversität Universidad Técnica Nacional und dem Ministerium für öffentliche Bildung Costa Rica. Geplant ist ein universitäres Expertisezentrum zur vergleichenden Berufsbildungsforschung. Wissenschaftlich begleitet und unterstützt wird das Projekt vom Fachgebiet Berufs- und Wirtschaftspädagogik der Universität Osnabrück.
Die Delegation wird bis Dienstag, 18. Oktober in Osnabrück sein und dann nach Bonn weiterreisen, wo sie unter anderem Gespräche im Bundesinstitut für Berufliche Bildung (BIBB) führt. Der Delegation gehören Vertreter des Bildungsministeriums, der Universidad Técnica Nacional, Unternehmer und Gewerkschaftsvertreter aus Costa Rica an.
